I Wasn't Mad. I Was Indifferent.

August 30, 2016

I woke up feeling well rested and ready for the day. My friend who checks up on me regularly asked me how I was and I didn't own a longing feeling of loss. We went through the day and went to the grocery, I saw a small chocolate fountain and I got reminded of my conversation with Caitie.

"Mommy, when I get better I will eat that"

"Yes honey, we will!"

But we never did. I WASN'T MAD. I WAS INDIFFERENT.I woke up feeling well rested and ready for the day. My friend who checks up on me regularly asked me how I was and I didn't own a longing feeling of loss. We went through the day and went to the grocery, I saw a small chocolate fountain and I got reminded of my conversation with Caitie. "Mommy, when I get better I will eat that" "Yes honey, we will!" But we never did.

I tried to hold back my tears and went on my way but at the check out counter, I saw this Hello Kitty candy fan. Caitie saw this during one of our grocery chores and she wanted to buy it. I told her that if it was cheap and less than 100 pesos we would buy it. Surprisingly when we checked it was priced at 180+. Even if I wanted and can buy it for her I had to keep my word.
